The Gem CabinetDay 29 · A Gem of Character
Emerald — the gem of Constant
Emerald

The Architect CEO · WHO she is

Constant

Green that never wavers, even with the garden of flaws inside it — standing firm together.

Emerald · The Law of Procurement

Family
Beryl coloured by chromium and vanadium
Hardness
7.5–8, but brittle from inclusions
Colour
Pure vivid green, never any other hue
Signature
Its inclusions are called the jardin — the garden — and are expected, not hidden

The stone read as the word

Emerald is graded by a standard no other gem uses: the internal garden is accepted, because a chromium-grown beryl cannot come up clean. What never varies is the green.

Constant is con + stare, to stand together. Not flawless. Unmoving in the one thing that matters.

What it is carried for

  • Carried when she must hold her colour with a garden inside her.
  • Held for steadiness that does not require perfection.
