The stone read as the word

Kyanite is the rare gem that gives one number for hardness along its length and a different one across it. A cutter has to know which way to approach it — and approached correctly, it yields.

Correctible is not weak; it is workable in the right direction. Contrition is that: showing the softer axis to the one who can improve you.
