How the stone came to be
Citrine is quartz that grew with iron in it, and heat did the rest. Deep in the earth, warmth from the surrounding rock turns colourless or smoky quartz golden — the stone is literally what happens when ordinary capacity is exposed to fire and enlarged instead of destroyed.
Its name comes from citron, the lemon: the Romans wore it as intaglio, the Scots set it into dirk hilts, and the Art Deco houses of the 1930s poured it into cocktail rings the size of a promise. For centuries merchants kept a piece in the cash drawer — which is why it is still called the merchant's stone.
Almost all fine citrine begins as amethyst or smoky quartz. The purple is not lost; it is transfigured. Nothing new was added. What was already there was given heat and room, and it came out gold.
What it is carried for
- Traditionally the stone of increase and opportunity — carried for trade, provision and abundance that circulates.
- Called the stone that does not need cleansing, because it is said not to hold the dark: warmth passes through it.
- Carried for confident capability — the courage to exercise a power rather than protect it.
- Associated with generosity: an abundance stone that is supposed to be spent, lent and shared, not hoarded.
As you live this law, you become this stone
The jewel is not a souvenir. Every element of Citrine is an element you gain as you walk the Law of the Potentiality — not by admiring the stone, but by living it until you are made of the same thing.
You gain · Warmed, not destroyed
Citrine is quartz that met heat and turned gold. Living Potentiality, you gain that: pressure and season stop shrinking you and start colouring you.
You gain · Room left inside
This stone grows in generous crystals with light travelling all the way through. You become capacious — built with space still unfilled, so increase does not require rebuilding you.
You gain · The merchant's drawer
It was kept where money moved, not where money sat. You gain circulating abundance: opportunity you spend and lend, so it multiplies into opportunities.
You gain · Nothing added, everything enlarged
Amethyst becomes citrine with no new material — only heat and time. That is potentiality: not a different woman, the same woman enlarged.
A jewel fit for a king — and a queen
Smile when you read this, because it is about you. A rough stone is not set in a crown; a cut one is. As you become and develop through this program you are being cut, warmed and polished into a jewel fit for a king and for a queen — and the joy of it is that you get to enjoy the stone you are turning into.
And you become your business. What you are made of shows up in your pricing, your rooms, your table, your people and your work. She does not have a brand — she has a nature, and everything she touches reflects it.
