The stone read as the word
Charoite's fibres are interlocked and swirled, so a polished slab looks like watered silk or a robe caught mid-turn. It was only described in 1978 and comes from a single locality — a stone with a court of one.
Courtly does not mean stiff. It means every movement carries the whole house's dignity with it, the way this purple carries light along its fibres instead of flashing it.
