The stone read as the word
Pyrite is called fool's gold, but the name is unfair. Pyrite genuinely does travel with gold — prospectors who followed it were often following the right vein. The stone rewards the one who keeps looking instead of the one who decides too early.
It builds itself into cubes without help, as if the earth were doing geometry on purpose. Struck with steel it throws sparks; its name comes from the Greek for fire. Curiosity is exactly that: the strike that makes a spark before there is any flame.
