The Women's Collective · The Guild

A guild is a sworn company of makers. This is ours.

Long before there were companies, there were guilds — women and men who held a craft together, kept its standard, trained the next hand, and refused to let cheap work carry their name. The Guild is the business directory of this collective: twenty-nine dollars a month, a verified listing, a mark on your door, and a table of women who trade with each other first.

What a guild actually is

A standard, written down

A guild is not a group chat. It is a company of makers who agreed on what good work looks like, and who will not put their mark on less than that.

A craft that is taught

Apprentice, journeywoman, master. Every guild member is learning from one woman ahead of her and teaching one woman behind her. That is the whole engine.

A mark that means something

The guild mark on your listing tells a buyer that other women in this directory have seen your work and will stand next to it.

A company that trades inside itself

Guild members hire guild members first. The directory is not advertising — it is the order book of the collective.

The business directory

One listing, read by every woman in the collective.

The free doors of The Villiage show who she is. The Guild directory shows what she sells, what she charges, who she has served, and who will vouch for her. When a member needs a designer, a bookkeeper, a midwife, a builder or a baker, this is the page she opens.

  • Your verified listing in the women's business directory, with your craft, city and rates
  • The guild mark on your storefront and replicated site
  • Search placement above free doors in The Villiage
  • Referral introductions — your listing is what allies send when someone asks
  • The full Academy: the thirty laws, the ninety gems, the ninety castles
  • Guild table: monthly working session where listings are reviewed and improved
  • First call on collective work — collaborations, dinners, speaking, and commissions

How you rise inside it

01

Apprentice

Your first ninety days. You show up, you walk the laws, you post one finished thing.

02

Journeywoman

You have shipped and been paid. Your listing carries proof, and you begin teaching one woman.

03

Master

Your work is quoted by others. You review listings at the guild table and vouch for new marks.

To join

Twenty-nine dollars, and a promise about your work.

  1. 01Take the Guild membership — $29 a month, one dollar of it leaves for a cause you choose.
  2. 02Write your listing: your craft, your city, your rates, and one finished thing we can see.
  3. 03Bring it to the guild table. It is read, improved, and marked.
  4. 04Trade. Guild members hire guild members first, and teach the woman behind them.
