Chalcedony has no glitter because its crystals are microscopic and packed. Light does not bounce off one big face; it spreads through the whole stone. That is what calm looks like — the energy is still there, distributed instead of flashing.

The Romans cut chalcedony for seals because the surface never fought the tool. A quiet material takes an impression best.
